Bossypants: (n) pants that are bossy.

Tina Fey’s book, Bossypants, is a must read. I laughed so much whilst reading this book AND I learned a few life lessons… Thanks Tina.

I thought a good way to engage with this book would be give my answers to the discussion questions from the back of the book. So here goes:

1) What do you think it means to be a Bossypants? Do you know anyone personally that you would describe as a Bossypants and did the society you live in ever try to drown her?

Bossypants are a pair of pants worn by people who are considered to be bossy. I know a few people who wear these pants, but to my knowledge, none have been drowned. Although, there was one who went missing after a luxury cruise…

2) The lessons Tin has learned from her work as a writer, a boss, a performer, and a producer are lessons that can be carried across a wide array of disciplines. Which moments resonated the most for you?

The rules of improv. can always be applied to life. For example, you should always say ‘yes‘. Even if the question is, “Do you want a full body wax?” And then you should follow that yes, with an ‘and‘. So, “Do you want a full body wax?”, “Yes, AND I would like a lemon body scrub after.”

Always make statements. Don’t apologise for your words or what you believe in. And there are no mistakes, unless it’s a page-boy haircut.

3) What are some of your favourite SNL sketches of 30 Rock episodes?

“Never go with a hippie to a second location.” – Jack Donaghy

I didn’t listen to this advice and now, I must live with the consequences.

“It’s hard for me to watch “American Idol” ’cause there’s a water bug on my channel changer.” – Kenneth

4) Which other celebrities, besides Kim Kardashian, do you think may have been engineered by Russian scientists to sabotage our athletes?

If I’m going to be honest here, I think the whole Kardashian family has been engineered by Russian scientists. And they threw Bruce Jenner in for a while just throw us off the scent.
